About Us
In response to the internationalization of higher education and the growing global demand for industry-ready talent, Hungkuang University has established the Office of the International Foundation Program the Cooperative and Business Development Center, and the Chinese Language Center. These units collectively coordinate key initiatives including international student recruitment, Chinese language education, collaboration with mainland Chinese universities, and domestic industry–academia cooperation, thereby building a comprehensive platform that integrates international education with industrial engagement.
Office of the International Foundation Program focuses on recruiting international students and cultivating global professionals equipped with strong professional expertise, Chinese language communication skills, and cross-cultural competence, thereby enhancing the University’s overall international development and social contribution.
The Office of the International Foundation Program actively expands international recruitment channels through overseas promotional activities, collaboration with international educational organizations, partnerships with sister institutions, online information sessions, and support from overseas representative offices. Recruitment efforts focus on countries and regions with strong learning potential and industry development needs. Tailored specialized programs and academic support mechanisms are designed based on students’ backgrounds to assist international students in smoothly transitioning into professional studies and future career development.
To enhance international students’ learning outcomes and their adaptation to life in Taiwan, the University’s Chinese Language Center successfully passed the Ministry of Education evaluation in 2025. The Center offers a systematic Chinese language teaching and support framework, including courses in basic Chinese, academic Chinese, and professional Chinese. Instruction is delivered through level-based teaching and diverse teaching materials to progressively strengthen students’ language proficiency. Cultural experiences and daily-life–oriented activities are also integrated to enhance practical language application, laying a solid foundation for subsequent professional coursework. In addition, the Center actively recruits international students to come to Taiwan for Chinese language study programs.
In accordance with the policies and regulations of the Ministry of Education, the Cooperative and Business Development Center continues to promote exchange and collaboration with universities in mainland China. Through the signing of memoranda of understanding, the Center develops initiatives such as student exchanges, short-term study programs, faculty exchanges, and collaborative professional courses, thereby facilitating the sharing of educational resources and the exchange of experience between both sides.
Through an institutionalized cooperation framework, these efforts broaden students’ international perspectives, enhance teaching quality, and promote cross-strait collaboration in talent cultivation and professional practice within higher education.
The Cooperative and Business Development Center under Office of the International Foundation Program focuses primarily on undertaking industry–academia cooperation projects. In alignment with government policies, industry needs, and the University’s professional strengths, the Center undertakes commissioned research projects, special-purpose programs, talent training initiatives, and professional service projects. By integrating faculty expertise, research facilities, and technical resources, the Center assists enterprises in addressing practical challenges and improving their overall competitiveness.
Looking ahead, Hungkuang University’s Office of the International Foundation Program will continue to deepen international student recruitment and Chinese language education, steadily advance collaboration with mainland Chinese universities, and strengthen industry linkages through project-based industry–academia cooperation. Through an integrated and forward-looking operational model, the Office is committed to cultivating international professionals who meet industry and societal needs, while fulfilling the University’s mission of internationalization and social responsibility.
